Classes and Clubs at GOCAT Technology Center

  • The GOCAT Gold Club (For Seniors)

    Are you intimidated by technology?

    Join the club...The GOCAT Gold Club!

    No, this isn’t another credit offer. This is an opportunity for Seniors to gather at the GOCAT Studio. You can ask questions, learn about video and still digital cameras, make a slide show of your favorite photos, or learn computer skills. Maybe you have a specific task that you need help with, we can offer one on one assistance. GOCAT has many types of software that you can explore. Are you interested in photo enhancement or restoration of family photoes? Did you ever think about creating digital art. We have internet access, including a wireless zone if you just want to use the services.

    We want to invite you on the first Wednesday of the month from 1 PM to 3 PM starting in November of 2008! Bring a friend and see what we have to offer you!

  • Boot Camp for Videographers

    Do you have an interest in video or digital media?

    Do you want to learn more?

    Join us for one of our hands-on workshops on the art and craft of capturing better video, how to frame a good shot, and the best use of pre-sets on your camera.

    Bring your camera and manual, as well as your questions and problems. Topics include misc wireless gear, cameras, editing and location shooting.

    If you don't have your own camera, we have cameras available for you to work with. Contact GOCAT for more information.

  • Modern Home Movies

    2 Week Course on Video Production

    • Use of digital video cameras
    • Organization of video projects
    • Importing digital media
    • Elements of basic digital editing

    Bring your own camera and manual or sign out a camera from GOCAT.

    Cost: $20

  • Video Scrapbooking

    An interesting way to preserve and share your family memories. Incorporate movies, videos, pictures and sound into a media project that you can give to family and friends.

    Maybe you would like to create a Travel Video Log about that trip you took last summer.

    We'll start you off with the basic skills you need: scanning pictures, creating a story line, and organizing your resources.

    You will create a slideshow complete with transitions, motion effects, music and captions.

    Cost: $30 for 3 sessions
