How are you funded?

The Town Council in conjunction with the Town Manager and a Cable Committee negotiated Gorham’s Franchise Agreement with Time Warner Cable. A portion of your cable bill, presently 5%, is collected and delivered back to the Town on a yearly basis. This money is used to fund equipment and staff for GOCAT TV3. No tax dollars are used to provide GOCAT's services.

Cable Franchise Agreement

Gorham Community Access Television was one of the first access channels to go on air in the state of Maine.

The original Franchise Agreement was activated on August 22, 1978. The second contract was negotiated and finalized on February 2, 1993 for an initial term of 15 years with an automatic extension of 11 years. This agreement with the town of Gorham is up for renewal February 2, 2019.
